Kaltimber was created from a respect for Indonesia’s forests and a belief in extending the life of valuable materials through reclamation and reuse. Specialising in reclaimed tropical hardwoods sourced from structures slated for demolition, the company develops decking, flooring, and custom timber applications using materials such as ironwood from Kalimantan. Expanding through interconnected practices including Naturanexa, I-Rewood, and Kitaru, Kaltimber explores reclaimed timber across architecture, building components, and objects, promoting material regeneration, craftsmanship, and alternatives to newly harvested hardwoods.
